Basic Obedience

This is an on-lead program where we teach you to teach your dog the basic obedience commands through behavior training.

The goal is to gain consistent control of your dog’s behavior by implementing the following:

  • Teach your dog to heel (walk next to your side)

  • Sit

  • Stay

  • Long sit and stay

  • Down

  • Come

In addition to learning these commands, we work to desensitize your dog so they are less reactive around other dogs and people.

The skills will be developed progressively and developed through this 6 week program.

Available at the following locations: Middletown, Newark, Greenville, Chadds Ford, New Castle

Advance Obedience

This is a long lead program that allows you to transition your dog to being off-lead and to feel comfortable that your dog’s behavior will be controlled and tempered around environmental stimuli such as other dogs, people, bicyclists, etc.

We teach you to continue communicating the commands of basic obedience training so you can enhance the understanding of what is expected between your dog and you.

The goal is to maintain consistent control of your dog’s behavior at distances greater than 15 feet by implementing the following:

  • Heel

  • Sit

  • Stay

  • Long sit and stay

  • Down

  • Come

  • Half Halt

The skills will be developed through this 5 week program.

Home Visits

These visits are tailored specifically to the issues and/or concerns you have with your dog’s behavior. We consider all of the factors that could be impacting the situation to get to the core of the issue.

We strive to create an individualized plan that will make it easy for the entire family to be on board and communication with the dog is more clear, concise, and consistent.

After the visit, you will have the knowledge and skills to have better control of your dog’s behavior regardless of their surroundings, making it more enjoyable for house guests to come for a visit, play with your dog in your yard, and walk in your neighborhood.

What People Are Saying

I can't say enough great things about this training group. My dog was struggling with fear of strangers and getting too excited meeting dogs on a leash. We now have our dog almost completely off leash trained! It's such an amazing feeling of freedom having the tools and knowledge to completely trust him on and off leash! Mark, Debbie and his team are the best!

My 9 month old German Shepherd just completed the 6 week basic obedience class. I couldn't be happier with the results. Her overall listening skills have improved so much and her demeanor around other dogs has improved greatly as well. I don't have enough good things to say about Mark--he is extremely knowledgeable and teaches you how to train your dog to succeed in all aspects of life. Mark is also hilarious and makes each class a blast to attend!
